Ansu Fati suffers new injury and could miss rest of Barcelona season

After spending two months recovering from a muscle problem and returning to play last week, striker Ansu Fati has confirmed a new injury. This Friday, Barcelona announced that shirt 10 has a bruise on the femoral biceps of his left thigh.

Barcelona have not released the striker's recovery period, but the Spanish press says that Ansu Fati will not be out for less than two months. There is also the possibility of the athlete having surgery, which could prevent him from playing on the field again during the season.

Ansu Fati was a substitute in Barcelona's defeat by Athletic Bilbao, last Thursday, in the Copa del Rey, in the Basque Country. Shirt 10 entered the second half, but had to leave the field at the beginning of overtime. The Catalan club was eliminated.

In the current season, Ansu Fati made just ten appearances for Barcelona. The 19-year-old scored five goals and provided one assist. Last season was also one of problems for the youngster, after a knee injury that forced him to undergo surgery.
